Frightened monitor lizard with head stuck in discarded sardine can rescued in Thailand
A frightened monitor lizard with its head stuck in a discarded sardine can was rescued in Thailand.
The frantic reptile wandered aimlessly around a pond when villagers saw it in Chachoengsao province on January 15.
Footage shows the animal wriggling as it was held by a concerned local. When it finally calmed down, the trash was pulled out of its face.
Villager Ekaphon Namol said: ‘We were sitting and waiting for fish to bite the bait, but the lizard came crawling. It was in trouble so we helped it.'
The lizard was unhurt and scurried across the field after being saved.
