A student captured on CCTV the moment an Evri driver took her package, after pretending to deliver it to her home.

Alizeh Somani, 22, was due to receive a package from Evri at her home in Leicester but when she got home there was no package to be seen.

On November 20 Alizeh decided to check her CCTV after being alerted that her package had been delivered, only to see the Evri courier had taken a picture of the parcel and then pocketed the package in the boot of their car.

She couldn’t believe what had happened and posted the footage online where it has since amassed over 2.9 million views.

Then, much to Alizeh’s surprise, the package was then re-delivered to the house two days later.

Alizeh said: “An Evri courier stole my parcel and I couldn’t believe it.

“I was disgusted and shocked, you hear about it happening but never thought it could happen to me.

“He came back two days later after my video went viral and returned the package.”

A spokesperson for Evri said: “We conducted a full investigation once we were made aware and can confirm that the courier no longer delivers on behalf of Evri . We have apologised to the customer for this behaviour which is not representative of our network of over 22k couriers and offered a goodwill gesture of £150.”
