Thousands gather at Chinese temple in Padang, Indonesia to mark Lunar New Year

Thousands of Padang residents from various ethnicities and religions flocked to the See Hin Kiong pagoda to witness a number of Chinese cultural arts such as the Liung dragon and the lion dance. not only adults, the Chinese art performances are also loved by children who want to play with lion dances.
the caretaker of the see hin kiong pagoda, indra lie said "the surge in visitors to the pagoda was very surprising, maybe because the Chinese New Year was not held in the city of Padang for 2 years due to covid-19,".
Meanwhile, a number of Padang residents really admire the whole procession of the Chinese New Year celebration in the city of Padang in the form of culture, even though they have different beliefs.
"I really admire all Chinese art and cultural performances in this 2023 Chinese New Year, even though I am a diverse Muslim.. I am very impressed and support them," .
At exactly 00.00 on January 23 2023, all residents of Padang ordered the pagoda to come out to respect the Chinese people to carry out the Lunar New Year prayer procession which has the sio rabbit.
Chinese people interpret the Sio Kelinculi Chinese New Year as calm and peaceful.
