Chinese New Year Celebrations in Dyanta Park in China With Hanged Lanterns and Yellow Chinese Letters
Chinese New Year is celebrated with many customs and traditions. One of the most popular is the giving of red envelopes (hong bao) which symbolize luck and good fortune. Red lanterns, fireworks, and dragon and lion dances are also popular activities for the holiday. Families also gather for a large reunion dinner and traditionally exchange gifts.
It is also a time to honor one's ancestors and to express appreciation for a year of good fortune. I have been visiting places here in china to see the culture and preparation for the festival.
Chinese people hang lanterns during the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) to symbolize hope for a brighter future. Lanterns are often decorated with wishes for luck and fortune. They are also thought to ward off bad luck and evil spirits.
