This is the awesome moment a best man whipped out a Final Fantasy-inspired "buster sword" to cut a gamer groom's wedding cake in the Philippines.

Footage shows sharp-dressed Vincent Atcham swaggering into the reception while the Final Fantasy VII battle theme blared through the speakers at the venue in Quezon City, Metro Manila on January 5.

Channeling his inner Cloud Strife, Vincent brandished the life-sized sword around before handing it over to newlywed architect Gab Vitriolo, 29.

The pair had planned to showcase the prop weapon to surprise the bride and public relations specialist Aubrey Esplana, 25, who was also a gamer.

Gab said: "I've had this idea for the longest time since Final Fantasy 7 is really close to my heart. Growing up, it was the first video game I ever played, and it was what made me fall in love with gaming".

He added that Aubrey was supportive of the gimmick as it showed guests the quirky side of their relationship.

Gab later pulled out a less cumbersome mini buster sword to cut into the wedding cake.
