According to a local senior citizen, he told Newsflare: The tree is protected by local gov as it is an iconic tree of this place, SUNGAI LEMBING. The tree named "Samanea Saman", means Rain Tree. The tree width is 282 cm and is believed over 130 years old.
Sungai Lembing in hundred years ago it is a place of tin mining. Due to this place the weather was too hot, therefore the mining company ( Pahang Consolidated Company Ltd) located in Sungai Lembing they imported about 10 of this tree from London to plant here to reduce the heat of this place.
