This is the amusing moment a pet dog was caught climbing out of the gate after patiently waiting for his owner to leave - then hopping back through the bars when she turned back.

The five-month-old puppy named Charcoal appeared obedient as he stood behind when the woman opened the sliding fence in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand on January 20.

Apparently, the naughty Charcoal was only looking for the right timing as he quickly climbed up the steel bars to squeeze through and escape.

CCTV footage shows the escape artist pooch successfully passing through the gaps. But his plans to play with friends were busted only seconds after as his owner immediately saw him and turned back around..

Pet owner Yuwadee Aumkate said: ‘Charcoal was caught red-handed and was very quick to return inside the house.

‘He thinks I don't know that he goes out to play with other dogs when I go out to the store.'
