A competitive pupil crashed into his classmate during a relay race in an amusing sports day fail.

Footage shows the youngster tumbling to the grassy field when he tried to jump over a schoolmate who fell before him in Chiang Rai province, Thailand.

However, the student in a white and pink Dri-Fit shirt was apparently unhurt and landed on his foot and arms with style before returning to the race.

Onlooker Watcharapong Kruepromma said the incident happened during their school event.

He said: ‘We were cheering for our classmates. We were seated near the curve, and a few of them had lost their control making the turn.

‘Everyone gave their best to win, and I am very proud of everyone. This is one of the most exciting events at our school.'
