This pack of clingy pet dogs has learned to swim to follow their owner to his resort in Thailand.

The sight of the pooches paddling along the Banpraw Pier has become a familiar sight to residents on Koh Libong in Trat province.

Footage shows the mixed breed canines deftly swimming towards the mangrove-covered riverbanks.

Several boats ply through the river, but have never hit the dogs, which have become local stars in the area as they swim across the 200-metre stretch of water daily.

Resident Prasit Bensa-ard, 52, said: 'The dogs swim out to the pier whenever their owner takes his boat to the resort.

'I'm not sure why they swim. They might be following their owner, or they might just be feeling hot, or want to do something fun.'

Aside from the scenery, the dogs themselves have become attractions as tourists would snap photos of their amusing antics.
