Dramatic surveillance footage shows Nathan Chacon, 45, purposely driving his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado into the lobby of a police station in Grand Junction, Colorado on Wednesday, January 25.

According to media reports, Chacon told investigators that he "chose to drive into the lobby" because he didn't want to be killed, but did so in order to "be heard." Chacon said he "knew it was dumb."

CCTV footage also shows a cop approaching Chacon and pulling a gun in him. Chacon gets out of the truck and complies without resistance when the officer asks him to put his hands up in the air. As the cop holds Chacon at gunpoint, he then lays flat on the floor before a group of officers arrives at the lobby and arrest him.

It's unclear what Chacon's grievance was that he felt was not getting properly dealt with when he decided to take drastic action.

Damages are estimated to be up to $1,000,000.
