Severe Flooding in Manado Submerges Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Seven Flights Delayed
In addition to hitting residential areas, severe flooding in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, also hit Sam Ratulangi International Airport.
As a result of the flooding, scheduled flights at the airport were postponed.
General Manager of Sam Ratulangi International Airport Manado, Minggus Gandeguai, said that the rain and strong winds that hit a number of areas in the city of Manado and its surroundings had an impact on flights at Sam Ratulangi International Airport Manado.
"There were seven flights that had to be postponed and three flights were diverted due to bad weather," he said.
The seven delayed flights are Garuda with flight number GA 601 on Manado-Jakarta route, Batik Air ID 6271 on Manado-Jakarta route, Citilink QG 301 on Manado-Jakarta route, WingsAir IW 2174 on Manado-Ternate route, WingsAir IW 1160 on Manado-Naha route, Lion Air JT 796 on Manado-Sorong route, and Lion Air JT 741 on Manado-Makassar route.
