Six newborn puppies abandoned in a pit were rescued in Thailand.

The puppies were crying in a dark isolated area near a farm in Khon Kaen province on January 15.

Pimpakan Poudom, who went to the area, followed the sounds which led her to a ditch where the creatures had taken shelter.

Footage shows the little creatures under the 3-foot-deep hole in the ground. The siblings raced to come out upon seeing the friendly stranger.

Pimpakan said she thought the sounds were only her imagination but they grew louder as she searched.

She said: "I couldn't risk not taking a look. I took a flashlight because it was dark and found them."

The good Samaritan took the litter back to her home to take care of. She said she didn't find the mother dog.

She added: "The puppies were alone. I don't know how they got there. I hope their mother was fine. I haven't given them names yet but I would adopt them because they were all so cute."
