Dancers in costume fought with spectators after getting into an argument in southern China on January 25.

Video filmed in the city of Shantou in Guangdong Province shows a Han dance performer apparently accidentally hitting a man while doing a traditional folk dance. The two then have an argument, which escalates into a fight. Other dancers then join in, beating the man with wooden sticks.

The injured people were sent to hospital for treatment. Police are dealing with the case.

The dance troupe apologised and said that all performers involved in the incident would be removed from their team.

1月25日（即正月初四日）下午15：30分左右，广东汕头潮阳区，塔馆英歌队在双忠行祠前进行接姥爷英歌表演，英歌队队员与在场观众发生口角冲突和肢体冲突，事发后领队及理事会立即出面处理。伤者也有到医院进行伤口处理，该事件也由当地派出所接警处置，后续有待警方处理。塔馆英歌队全体队员及领队对广大群众及各地区英歌队伍对此表示深表歉意，该事件参与人员本队将受到严惩，并移除本队。
视频显示在英歌队表演现场，观众很多，大家都挤在一起看表演。表演期间英歌队有队员与观众发生争执，随后大打出手。英歌队其他成员见状蜂拥而上，抄起英歌槌群殴黑衣男子，场面一度陷入混乱。
据目击者称，事发起因是由于观看人数较多，前排人员一直往前挤。期间一名英歌舞者表演时手中木棍不小心碰到黑衣观众，当时有点头示意道歉。而黑衣观众恶语相向毫不领情，随即引发斗争。
