Video taken on Jan. 20, 2023 shows the working scene of garbage incineration power plant in Huailai county, Zhangjiakou City, North China's Hebei Province.

In recent years, Zhangjiakou, Beijing's "back garden" and "water source", has made every effort to promote the construction of the capital's water conservation functional zone and ecological environment support zone.

The domestic waste incineration power plant in Huailai County, as a key project of reducing, recycling and harmless treatment of domestic waste, was connected to the grid in January 2023 and has been running well.

The power plant focuses on the disposal of Zhuolu, Chicheng, Huailai and Xihuayuan county in the east of Zhangjiakou, with a daily disposal of 800 tons of household waste and 30 tons of kitchen waste. It is expected to generate more than 100 million KWH of electricity annually, effectively supplement the local demand for electricity, realize the "zero landfill" of household waste, improve urban and rural living environment, and protect the clear water and blue sky.
