Tourists flock to Yichang East Railway Station in central China's Hubei Province, Jan 28, 2023.

From January 21 to 27, 2023, China's railways sent 50.174 million passengers, with an average daily number of 7.168 million, an increase of 57.0% year on year, recovering to 83.1% in 2019.

Data from the Spring Festival Transport team under the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of The State Council showed that, On January 27, a total of 50.92 million passenger trips were made by railways, highways, waterways and civil aviation, up 83.1 percent year on year.

The total flow of national expressways was 62.592 million vehicle times, up 29.7 percent year on year. A total of 225.638 million trips were made during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday.
