This is the dramatic moment police chased a gang suspected of delivering 18 stolen motorcycles to northern Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows officers pouncing on a couple driving two pickup trucks containing several two-wheelers along a highway in Ang Thong province on January 25.

The suspects Weeranan Winate, 27, and Namfon Winate, 26, were detained and charged with theft.

Police Major General Paisal Pruksajamroon, commander of the Ang Thong police, said: 'We received a tip-off from Metropolitan Police that the trucks were delivering the stolen motorcycles to Chiang Rai province in the north.'

They found two trucks - a Toyota Vigo and Isuzu D-max - matching the description on January 25 afternoon 'driving suspiciously' near an old plastic factory and trying to avoid a police checkpoint.

Cops tailed the pair as they sped off on the highway and subsequently arrested them after they tried to flee.

The couple allegedly admitted they were hired to transport stolen motorcycles from several provinces to the northern region.

Further investigations are ongoing to find the identity of their employer.
