A woman's hair caught fire from a candle in an amusing birthday cake fail.

Haneri Milliona was having a party with close relatives as she turned 36 when the accident happened at their home in Singapore on January 22.

Everyone was singing her a happy birthday song when she leaned over to the dessert so she could record the event with her phone.

However, as she pressed record, the burning wick ignited some of her curly strands and the flame spread before she quickly patted it out.

She jokingly said: ‘They said having my birthday fall on the same day as Chinese New Year would be lucky. No one told me it'd be lit.'

The birthday celebrant added: ‘I wanted to document myself blowing out the candle but lit my hair on fire instead. I stayed chill while my mom almost had a heart attack.'
