A father and a son rescued a little egret trapped in ice on a frozen river in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Linyi in Shandong Province on January 24 shows a little egret moving its wings repeatedly to try to fly away but one of its legs was trapped in ice.

A man named Xian and his father used a knife to break the ice and free the bird. After the little egret was rescued successfully, they reported the case to the police and handed the bird over to the forestry bureau.

Since the little egret's foot was injured, the forestry bureau would temporarily adopt it and treat it.

1月24日，山东临沂。咸先生大年初三在河边溜达时，意外发现一只白鹭左脚被冻在冰面上，无法脱身不断挣扎。咸先生靠近进行施救，过程中白鹭受到惊吓不断啄人，救援困难。最终咸先生和父亲一起拿把刀敲开冰面，成功救出了这只白鹭，并报警送到了林业局。据悉，这只白鹭左脚因为不断挣扎而受伤，将暂时被林业部门收养救治。视频由咸先生提供。
