An urban explorer has discovered an abandoned house that looks straight out of a fairy tale.

Yannik, 21, from Germany, visited the home in rural France whilst exploring the country with his friend. He shared a tour of the house on TikTok – it has since gone viral with over 65,000 likes.

The urban explorer was stunned to find the home’s original features and ornaments still intact but surrounded by a trail of ivy and moss, with nature reclaiming the abandoned property.

Amongst the ordinary kitchen appliances, Yannik found wilted flowers still bright in colour and peeling green wall paint that makes you feel like you’re walking through a Disney film set.

A trail of ivy leads into a dining room where a collection of china plates, chairs, and watercolor paintings remain in the indoor garden.

However, things became more sinister when Yannik found a room filled with creepy dolls staring straight at him.

"Inside the house, it was very creepy", Yannik said. "After searching for some documents about the history of the house, I found out that a couple lived inside this place 12 years ago. They probably both died and had no children that could take care of the house after their death. I found all the pictures of the couple and a 2011 calendar. It’s amazing to see how nature takes everything back. The garden had a bit of the feeling of a fairy tale house with all these plates".

Users rushed to the comment section to share their astonishment.

“Nature makes things so much more beautiful,” wrote one user.

“I feel like this place is somewhat magical,” said someone else.

Another person commented: “I love the way the earth reclaims things”

Yannik has been exploring abandoned properties for the past three years and has encountered both enchanting and disturbing residences that have been left to rot.
