A group of brave residents rescued a boy trapped in a frozen lake in central China.

Video filmed in the city of Kaifeng in Henan Province on January 31 shows the ice layer suddenly breaking under a man, causing him to fall into the frozen lake when he was walking toward the boy.

An elderly man then walked to the two trapped people slowly and threw a rope at them. However, the elderly man fell into the icy lake as well after the ice under his feet broke.

Finally, another man held the rope to pull the three people back to safety one by one.
