A talented man made a stainless steel aircraft carrier model to fulfil his childhood dream in eastern China.

Cool video filmed in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on January 26 shows a 1.72-metre-long type 004 aircraft carrier model with attack and fighter planes on it.

By using electromagnetic catapults, the planes are able to take off on the runway. The model is also equipped with underwater flotation and power systems that can be lowered into the water, just like a real aircraft carrier.

The man named Ren Bailin used to work as a welder and welded components for excavators every day. He used some metal scraps to practice welding and assembled them into models of tanks and aeroplanes in his spare time, then sold them in night markets.

Ren said: "I am a fan of the military since I was a child. I used to buy posters of planes and tanks and stuck them at home. After the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning came out, I was so excited that I thought of replicating the model of it."

"I finally fulfilled my son's dream and my childhood dream," Ren said.

The video was provided by Ren Bailin.
