Philippines earthquake rattles electronic gadgets hanging in shop

Gadgets hanging on the shelves of an electronics store were seen shaking when a strong earthquake rattled the Philippines this evening.

The Android Earthquake Alerts System reported that the tremors struck some 89 kilometres from Davao City on the southern island of Mindanao at 6.44 pm local time.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that the quake - reportedly between 5.3 and 6.1 in magnitude - struck at a depth of 19 kilometres southeast of Surigao del Norte province at 6.35 pm local time.
