A goldfish aquarium was seen shaking as a strong earthquake rattled the Philippines on February 1.

The Android Earthquake Alerts System reported that the tremors struck some 89 kilometres from Davao City in the southern island of Mindanao at 6.44 pm local time.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said that the quake - between 5.3 and 6.1 in magnitude - struck at a depth of 19 kilometres southeast of Surigao del Norte province at 6.35 pm local time.
