Hindu devotees worship two giant stones considered symbol of God Vishnu in India's Uttar Pradesh
Hindu devotees and locals welcome the arrival of two pieces of stone weighing around 30 and 14 tonnes in Ayodhya, a city in India's state of Uttar Pradesh, on February 1.
These pieces of rock are called "Shaligram stones", a variety found only on the riverbed of Kali Gandaki river in Nepal. They are considered a symbol of Vishnu, the God of Preservation, in Hinduism.
The stones will be used to carve the idols of Lord Ram and Sita and placed in Ayodhya's Ram temple.
