Pet dog with head stuck in pickup truck’s engine rescued in Thailand
A pet dog stuck with his head stuck in a pickup truck's engine was rescued in Thailand.
The five-year-old pooch Chao Dam Yen was chasing a cat in the garage that hid under the vehicle in their home in Chonburi province on January 25.
Desperately, the defiant Chao Dam Yen poked his head between the tight spaces but ended up being trapped.
Pet owner Tanee Kanchanasai, 75, rushed to call the rescuers to help him save the hapless creature who had been with since he was a puppy.
Footage shows volunteers under the pickup truck as they removed some of the car parts and make space for the dog's head.
Worried pet owner Tanee said: ‘I heard my dog shouting in pain. I thought he was hurt. I was really scared so I called for help.'
The team rushed to the house and found Chao Dam Yen stuck between the engine and the control arm.
They used two jacks to lift the car before pulling the engine and the control arm out of each other.
However, the process was difficult because the dog was large so they used a lubricant oil to make the dog slip through.
Five rescuers spent more than 20 minutes before they successfully rescued the dog with no injury.
A rescuer said: ‘Fortunately, there was equipment available in the garage so the rescue was quick.
‘It could be harmful if it took longer or he could be killed if no one saw him under the vehicle and drove it.'
