Haka dance in London's Parliament Square as expat New Zealanders celebrate their national day

Kiwis in London did a traditional Haka dance in Parliament Square on Saturday 4 February as part of Waitangi Day celebrations.

Hundreds of New Zealanders were at the gathering in central London, many of them in fancy dress.

Some had also been celebrating the day with a pub crawl, in what has become something of a Waitangi Day tradition for young expats in the UK capital.

Haka are ceremonial dances performed by the Maori people native to New Zealand but nowadays also by New Zealanders of all ethnic groups.
