Bounces & bumps as trial drivers tackle notorious ‘Crooked Mustard’ hill in Gloucestershire

Drivers from across the UK took part in the annual Cotswold Clouds car trial today (February 5) - which included the notorious s-shaped ‘Crooked Mustard’ stage - a slippery, muddy, twisting uphill trail. Around 80 cars from pre-war to modern took part in the event organised by The Stroud & District Motor Club, but only a handful completed the Crooked Mustard climb. The Gloucestershire-based event has been running since 1950. The object of the stage is to reach the top by any means, but the vehicle is not allowed to slip backwards at any point.
