A jilted lover murdered his ex-girlfriend before carrying her corpse on his motorcyle to dump it in a landfill site.

Pisanu Mohachit, 34, was livid after the victim Kodchaporn Koomprasit, 37, visited his apartment in Prachinburi province, Thailand, to break up with him on January 26 evening.

Bisexual Kotchaphon already had a girlfriend but had been in a year-long affair with the man.

When she tried to end the affair, furious Pisanu killed her, tied her up, and wrapped her corpse in a yellow blanket to dispose of it.

Chilling CCTV footage shows Pisanu leaving the apartment on his motorcycle with Kotchaphon's body slumped in front of him in the early hours of January 27.

Pisanu was arrested a week later and allegedly confessed to the affair. He was remanded in police custody and faces the death penalty.

Police Major General Winai Nucha, commander of the Prachin Buri Police, said: 'The suspect confessed to the murder and he was taken to the crime scene. He told police how he hid the body of the victim.

'He was jealous and driven to rage. He said that is why he killed his girlfriend.'

Piyawan Promsorn, 38, Kotchaphon's lover of 12 years, reported her missing on January 28.

However, it was not until February 2 when Kotchaphon's remains were finally found by a rubbish collector at the landfill site in Prachin Buri.

The worker told police grew suspicious as stray dogs had been incessantly tugging at the blanket-wrapped object that emitted a foul smell.

When she untied it, she was greeted with the stomach-churning site of Kotchaphon's rotting corpse, prompting her to report to the police.

Piyawan was able to confirm her identity, but the advanced state of decomposition made it difficult to determine a cause of death.

An arrest warrant was issued for Pisanu on February 3, with officers tracking him down and arresting him in the Bang Sai district of Ayutthaya on the same day.

Piyawan allegedly admitted to the crime after the evidence was presented to him.

He reportedly told police that he had been taking meth and killed Kotchaphon out of anger after she talked about ending their relationship.

Police Major General Winai Nucha added: 'We believe the murder was because of a love triangle. The killer became jealous that the victim did not separate from her girlfriend of 12 years.

'The evidence in the case was beyond any doubt. The suspect admitted it was him in the CCTV video riding on a motorcycle with the victim's body.'

A funeral was held for Kotchaphon on February 3, and her remains were cremated two days later.

Her devastated mother Wandee Kumprasit said: 'We thank the police for the quick arrest of Pisanu. We want him to receive a life sentence or the death penalty.'

Pisanu reportedly confessed to murdering and was remanded in police custody. The maximum punishment is the death penalty.
