Person is rescued from pile of rubble in town in Turkey
A person is rescued from a pile of rubble in the town of Kirikhan, Hatay Province, Turkey, after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit the region in the early hours of February 6.
The first earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.8, rocked Turkey and Syria in the early hours. According to the US Geological Survey, it struck 23 kilometers east of Nurdagi, near the border with Syria. The combined death toll has reached 1,200.
The second quake hit Turkey around noon. The epicentre was recorded near the city of Kahramanmaras. More people are feared dead.
