A loved-up bride and groom ignored the pouring rain to finish their first dance at their wedding.

Newlyweds Jesyl Gubatanga and Hector Ledesma were slow-dancing in front of the garden reception when a storm approached and the heavens opened in Iloilo province, the Philippines on February 3.

But the couple were unfazed by the bad weather and seemingly enjoyed dancing under the rain for the first time as husband and wife.

Instead, the downpour created an almost Hollywood-like romantic setting for the start of their married life.

Footage shows the sweet Jesyl and Hector locking their eyes at each other while they were soaking wet but pushed through with the carefully choreographed dance.

Their friend and guest Leni Aquino said: ‘It was one of the sweetest moments I have seen. I thought it can only happen in the movies.'

She jokingly added: ‘Now I'm starting to think that the rain was a paid actor. It didn't ruin the event, just added a special memory for everyone to keep.'

Thrilled families and friends can be heard shouting in the background as the groom lifted up the bride during their first dance.

Leni added they thought the special occasion would face a delay during the downpour but it turned out the other way.

She said: ‘Everyone was leaving their tables and the staff at the venue were starting to move the chairs and assist us. But the couple looked so in love with each other and the rain didn't stop them not even for a moment.'
