Thailand's biggest flower festival is making a return this year as locals parade spectacular floats in Chiang Mai province following a pandemic hiatus.

Dozens of elaborately decorated vehicles carrying arrays of beautiful blooms were showcased through the streets at the Nong Buak Haad Public Park in Chiang Mai province from February 3 to 5.

Lively marching bands and costumed performers were interspersed with the floats, adding to the festivities.

A contest was also held in which the parade cars were judged based on appearance, creativity and how they showcased the local culture.

Tourists later enjoyed taking photos at several scenic spots in the park filled with blooming tulips, hydrangeas, lisianthuses, and roses.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand in Chiang Mai estimated around 100,000 tourists to have visited the province during the festival, and generated at least 900 million THB (around 26 million USD) in revenue.
