This is the heartwarming moment a hapless kitten stuck between buildings for two days was rescued in Thailand.

The two-month-old female kitten was trapped between a convenience store and a cake shop in Sintiwatanee village in Ayutthaya on February 1.

A rescue team arrived after receiving a report, and found the baby feline wedged behind a gutter pipe and unable to free itself.

The creature kept mewling while rescuers hammered away at the pipe to release it.

After around 30 minutes, the triumphant officers pulled out the animal and cradled it in their palms.

A store employee said they had heard the kitten mewling a day before, but could not find where it was.

The moggie was given a drink before being taken by local animal lover Pikul Leekokklang, who will care for it while looking for its forever home.
