Stunning 'fogbow' timelapse captured in Kent, UK

Buy video

A timelapse video of a very rare weather phenomenon known as a 'fogbow' was captured in Kent, UK this afternoon (February 8).

A fogbow is a rainbow that forms when the sun reflects off the tiny water droplets in fog, but the colours are much fainter than a traditional rainbow - so it's often called a 'white rainbow'.

The ethereal spectacle was seen from Sheerness between 1pm and 2pm local time.

Like the English joke about waiting for a bus (then three turning up at the same time) - this is the third day running the usually rare spectacle of a fogbow has been seen in Sheerness - due to three days of similar weather conditions: very cold foggy mornings followed by afternoon sunshine.
