People work on a high-altitude conductor crossing the 500-kilovolt Taidou and Xingdou lines in Xinqiao town, Jingjiang city, East China's Jiangsu province, Feb. 7, 2023. The Fengcheng-Meili 500-kilovolt power transmission and transformation project, which began construction on September 25, 2020, is a key project in the country's 13th Five-Year Plan for electric power. In addition to setting the world record of 385 meters for the highest transmission tower across the river, the project also set the world first in seven construction data, including the span of tower root opening size, elevator lifting height, and construction height of tower holding poles. After the construction and operation, new energy from the north bank of the Yangtze River will be continuously sent to the South of the Yangtze River, and the green and sustainable development capacity of the Yangtze River Delta will be improved in an all-round way.
