Stunning Green Comet timelapse as it approaches Mars above Kent, UK
A stunning timelapse of 'Green Comet' - official named C/2022 E3 ZTF - has been captured above Kent, UK this evening (February 9).
The vivid green cosmic rock is getting closer to Mars in the night sky and will appear closest to the red planet on February 10 & 11.
Footage shows the comet close-up, followed by a wider sky view showing Mars near the bottom of the picture and Pleiades (also known as the Seven Sisters) on the far right.
Images were captured from Sheerness prior to moonrise between 18.30-19.30 local time.
