Rescuers were unable to stop a tough wild boar that managed to escape even after being shot five tranquiliser darts in Thailand.

The beast went on a rampage at an apartment's car park area in Pattaya city on February 7 evening.

It had smashed several plant boxes and terrified locals who called a rescue team for help.

However, because the snorting ugly hog was discovered at night, the responders declined to visit the scene claiming business hours were over.

They were later able to reach a specialist with experience tranquilising stray dogs.

However, he too proved to be of little help as the wild boar remained standing even after being shot five times with the anesthetics.

The animal, estimated to weigh between 200 to 300 kilograms, eventually fled through the parking lot's open gates after three hours with several darts still sticking out of its thick hide.
