Workers rescued four barn owls while they were installing an air-conditioning unit outside a building in southern China.

Video filmed in Guangdong’s Huazhou on December 10, 2022, shows four owls hiding in a hollow part of the building.

According to reports, the workers installing the air-conditioner unit discovered the barn owls. They then transferred the birds into the flat with the flat owner and called the police.

The owls reportedly have been living in the hole for more than one year and they often disturbed residents at night.

A nest of barn owls was rescued while the worker was installing an air-conditioner in southern China.

Later, they called the police to take over the owls.

The filmer Peng Dong said the parents left before they opened the shelter of the air-conditioner’s outdoor unit, and left four birdlings there. The remaining birdlings were taken indoors, except for one that flew away and could not be found.

This owl family has been living in this hallow for more than one year, and the owls often disturb the sleep of the householders.

The barn owl is a second-class protective animal in China, and it also a state-endangered species contained in IUCN Red List.
