A gas leak caused a fire in a restaurant while a baby played in the back.

CCTV footage shows the huge blaze erupting from one of the grills while an infant crawled on the floor of the adjoining room in Nonthaburi province, Thailand on February 7.

The youngster was next to the appliances and her two siblings were sitting on the couch unaware of the disaster happening at the barbecue place in front of the property.

Their mum later went out of the room to check the situation outside. The burning grill was immediately taken out to the road and doused with a fire extinguisher.

Mother Prapatsara said: ‘My boyfriend was trying to cook the meat but the gas we use for the grill leaked and burst into flames.

‘I was relieved that my babies were not hurt. The fire was put out and did not spread.'

The youngsters were unhurt and the restaurant was not damaged. However, mum Prapatsara added they are now thinking of renovating the wall dividing her children's playroom and the restaurant.

She said: ‘We would have to think of something else. They stay next to the kitchen of our busy meat grilling place.'
