Lowering expectations and then smashing them is a guaranteed recipe for an epic reaction, but Jeff and Melissa Snyder already knew that.

This amusing video features the aforementioned couple watching the look of disappointment on their boys' faces when they are told their Christmas gift was a 'Madden' game but without the Xbox.

The younglings make it known that the game can only be played on an Xbox, but they try their best not to bring the vibe down. But then moments later, Melissa surprises them with 'one more' present, which turns out to be an... you guessed it... Xbox!

"My wife and I tricked the boys into thinking we got them the Madden game for Christmas without getting them the Xbox (that you have to play it on)," Jeff explained to WooGlobe. "They have had a Nintendo Switch for a couple of years, but have always wanted to play Madden.

"So, we acted like we only got them the game but nothing to play it on. As you can see, they were very surprised that we actually did get them the Xbox."
