Stray dogs and monkeys removed from India's Taj Mahal for G-20 events
Local government workers remove stray dogs and monkeys from the Taj Mahal mausoleum and its surrounding areas in the Indian city of Agra. This comes as the country, the Presidency of the G20 until November 2023, welcomes delegates to various events.
The Agra's Information Office released a statement saying that officials gave these instructions as part of the event preparation.
According to local sources, the animals were released in other parts of the city and green locations.
Local authorities are working on a plan to protect visitors from animal attacks. An article written in January 2023 by Hindustan Times said that the forest department permitted the capture of 500 monkeys, which will be sterilised.
