A cat was accidentally locked in a fridge after walking inside when its owner was putting away some drinks.

Video filmed in the city of Songuuan in Jilin Province on February 13 shows a 7-month-old silver-shaded British shorthair named Jiu Jiu walking into a fridge when its owner Ms Lyu was putting canned drinks into it.

Since Lyu did not see Jiu Jiu, she closed the fridge door after finishing her work and sat down to play on her phone.

After around one minute, Lyu heard her cat meowing in the fridge and went to open the door to free it.
