Panic-stricken students fled when a fire cut short their ballroom dancing class.

The youngsters were practicing in a gymnasium when the blaze erupted at the Srinakharinwirot University in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand on February 14.

Footage shows how the class suddenly stopped as pupil Nithipon ran over to grab her phone, which she had been using to record the session.

She said: 'I was concentrating on the dancing so much that I didn't smell the smoke. I stopped when people started shouting fire and running outside.

Firemen arrived at the scene where they found a fire emerging from one of the buildings on campus. It took them three hours to extinguish the blaze and secure the area.

There were no injuries and officials are now investigating the cause.
