This is the heartwarming moment a daughter who was away working for six years made a surprise return to her family.

Homesick Orathai Somponkrang did not tell anyone she arrived home except for her older sister Dady Somponkrang who helped her plan the special lunch at their home in Bangkok, Thailand.

While the happy family were taking a group photo inside the restaurant, Orathai joined in until her parents turned round and realised who she was.

Heartwarming footage shows the youngest daughter photobombing the family on January 27. At first, her relatives were confused until they recognised her face when she moved closer.

Her mum looked up from the table and stared at her for a moment before the pair locked in a tight hug in a heartwarming reunion.

Sister Dawan Somponkrang said: ‘Even I didn't know that she would come home. She only told me about it when everything was ready.

‘I helped her plan the surprise to make it more memorable. My mother couldn't believe our little sister was with us.'

Her father sat beside the mother and daughter, appearing to hold back his tears at the tender moment.

Dady added: ‘We were crying. She was away for a long time. We all missed her so much.'
