A brave rescuer risked his own life to save a man stranded at sea in eastern China.

Video filmed in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on February 14 shows huge waves washing a man away out to sea.

A rescuer from Yantai Jiaolong Public Welfare Rescue Team named Zhang Bin swam to approach the stranded man and put a lifebuoy ring onto him.

A group of people on the bank pulled a rope attached to the lifebuoy ring to bring the two people back to safety.

According to reports, the man got stuck out at sea when he was catching penis fish there.

The man was successfully rescued and he was not injured seriously. Since he choked on the water, he was sent to hospital for treatment by ambulance.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
