A German man sawed through the walls of a beauty salon in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to save a kitten trapped for days inside.

Horst Wiegand used his power tools to drill an opening in the shop's wall. It wasn't long before he finally had the tiny cat in his palm.

Shopkeeper Heng Vouch Nay had been hearing the kitty's cries for three days, prompting her to ask Horst to save it.

Horst said: "I'm sort of the special case man for animal rescues here in Cambodia. There were actually three kittens stuck inside but only one managed to survive. We asked the beauty salon owner for permission to cut open her shop's wall. I first tried to save the kitten over the roof, which was not possible.".

The kitten was adopted by the shopkeeper Hend.

The footage was filmed in the Russian Tuol Tompoung Market on February 12.
