Vendors use hot water springs to cook noodles at Chinese scenic spot
Vendors used hot water springs to cook noodles at a scenic spot in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Chenzhou in Hunan Province on February 1 shows a vendor putting glass noodles into water that had a temperature of 98 degrees Celsius before serving them to customers.
In another clip, bags of peanuts, sweet potatoes and eggs were also seen soaking in the hot spring water to be cooked.
Nearby residents filled the spring water into buckets to take it back home.
A local government employee said that the mineral content of the hot spring water meets the standards and it is safe to drink the water.
However, local residents are banned from using the hot spring water as it is a scenic area.
It will take some time to address this issue since it has been a long-standing habit for hundreds of years among the local residents.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
