Impatient driver recklessly overtakes at double the 20mph speed limit on residential road in Birmingham, England
This is the moment a reckless driver overtook another in a city suburb at double the speed limit.
The driver of the blue 2004 Volkswagen Scirocco was travelling behind the dash cam vehicle.
The dash cam vehicle was travelling at 20mph, the residential speed limit on Wellington Road in the Edgbaston area of the city.
The VW driver waited until a van had passed in the opposite direction before taking their chance and overtaking along the road that leads towards the private Priory School at 2.43pm on Friday 17 February 2023.
As the driver recklessly overtook, the blue car passed a laser speed detector that recorded their speed at 41mph, more than double the 20mph speed limit.
Despite the driver’s careless actions, three cars ahead were also travelling at the speed limit, which caused the driver to brake heavily and prevented the speeder from making any further headway at excessive speed.
