This aerial drone and ground-based videos show Sanibel Island continuing to recover four months after Hurricane Ian struck the popular resort island located off Fort Myers, Florida, US. Many businesses and some beaches remain closed, but progress is being made on Sanibel and neighboring Captiva Island.

This week (13 February - 19 February), the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce held ribbon-cutting ceremonies for three more businesses that reopened.

In a statement posted on the Chamber website, chamber President and CEO John Lai said, "It does my heart good to see recovery in every aspect of the island business community. We celebrated a return of accommodations, dining, and attraction factions. Just goes to show, you can't keep a good destination down."
