A mum had 'hair and make-up' done while she gave birth - with a beautician and a hairdresser working on her as she pushed.

Carly Temple, 23, felt she had to look good during labour and didn't want to appear 'sweaty' in photographs.

The mum-of-three has revealed how she had a makeover while giving birth to two of her three kids - son JD and daughter Lettie.

JD arrived weighing 7lbs on 24 January 2020 at 12.18am at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.

Carly, a make-up artist and hairdresser from Jackson, Mississippi said: "One of my friends is a make-up artist."

''So I got up at 4am so she could do my make-up and I went into hospital for 5.30am.

"Most of the time when you see people post-birth they look sweaty. I wanted to look good so I could feel good about myself."

''My labour took 17 hours I was exhausted. I had my make-up done whilst I was in labour, all the doctors and nurses came in to see."

Carly has three children JD, three, Slayton, two and Lettie, four-months.

During her first birth a make-up artist and hairdresser came into the glam her up whilst she gave birth.

Her second birth was a surprise so she didn't have time to prepare.

According to Carly her waters broke naturally with her second child Slayton, one, so she didn't have time to get dressed up.

But she planned ahead for her youngest daughter Lettie, who is four months old.

Her partner Mitchell, 27, then drove her to the hospital so she could give birth glamorously.

Lettie arrived at 12.31pm on 26 October 2022 weighing 6lb2oz.

She said: "I wanted natural, dewy skin and to look refreshed and glowy. My friend did my make-up and then I went to the hospital."

"I did my hair my self, I gave myself a blow-out. I was having contractions and was feeling everything at that point. "

"My labour was great, it took five hours and I literally pushed once. I think it definitely helped the labour- when you look good, you feel good about yourself."
