This is the heartwarming moment a husband leapt with joy when his wife showed him a positive pregnancy test.

Alberto Lague, 28, was washing the dishes in the kitchen when his wife of four years, Jan, 30, casually placed the test stick by the sink of their home in Cebu province, the Philippines.

Delighted at the surprise, the soon-to-be first-time father's face lit up with his eyes and mouth wide open while looking at his partner.

Footage shows Alberto letting out high-pitched shrieks while seemingly trying to absorb the wonderful news. He then went to hug his wife before he ran across their home jumping in happiness.

Wife Jan said: ‘He really wanted to have a baby and to be a dad. I know that he would be happy with the news but I didn't expect that he would have that reaction.'

Alberto was also seen kissing his wife's belly while saying: ‘Oh my God. Lord, thank you, Lord,' while Jan tried to calm him down.

He was also filmed in the hidden smartphone saying: ‘What do you want to eat? Don't carry anything heavy. I will do all the laundry from now on. Don't move.'

Alberto said: ‘We did a test a day before that which came out negative. Then the following day, my wife did not tell me that she tried again.

‘I was so surprised I did not know how to react. I was filled with happiness. I can't explain what I felt. I just shouted.'

Pregnant Jan now has a healthy six-month-old in her belly.

She said: ‘Ever since he found out I was pregnant, he did not let me do heavy chores. He has been very supportive.'

The couple is expecting to meet their baby when Jan gives birth around May.
